This installation was created for the Seattle Public Library as a commissioned work with VIVID MATTER Collective. The project focused on highlighting the African American Archive at Douglass-Truth Library in the historical Central District of Seattle.

University of Washington CoLab brought Split Six an idea: use art and imagination to explore new possibilities for youth wellness. We transformed that idea into a two-day arts experience where young people, artists, and community came together to create, connect, and imagine new futures.

2155: AN EXPLORATION OF AFROFUTURISM IN PERFORMANCE ART
2155 began with a question: What might Black queer life look like 140 years in the future? Split Six transformed that question into an Afrofuturist performance experience where artists used poetry, movement, music, and storytelling to imagine Black queer futures together.
